Evergy, AEP, and Liberty are planning connected 345,000-volt work across Kansas, Oklahoma, and southwest Missouri. Kansas approved the west side of its route on May 12, 2026 and sent the east side back for study. Oklahoma has two cases. Missouri's open file is a price case for giant customers.

Garett and Megan of Neosho spent nearly three years paying off 12 acres and getting it ready for a home for their three boys. There is only one spot on the land where a house can go. They say the proposed route would run through or within feet of that spot.

Neosho paused new data-center permits inside city limits for one year on July 7, 2026. The Joplin Globe reported a 2026 inquiry about industrial-park land for a possible data center.
