On May 12, 2026 the Kansas board approved the Buffalo Flats route west of U.S. 77. It sent the proposed route east of U.S. 77 back for a new study. The board named worries about the Flint Hills in that decision.
A hearing is set for 6 p.m. on November 19, 2026 at Sedan High School, 416 Elm Street. Open house 4 to 6 p.m. Written comments run through December 2. Evergy's page says 5 p.m. Check the official notice before you drive.
