Documents only

Nobody has named a data center in Newton County.

Here is what the record shows, with dates. Completed interconnection applications are not a named customer, not a Newton County pin, and not proof they will build. A closed meeting is not a deal. We follow the load with paper. If we cannot show the document, we do not say it.

Why it can stay quiet

Newton County has no zoning. The city moratorium stops at the city limits. Water and sewer now sit with Missouri American Water. Chapter 100 runs through the county IDA. Liberty asked the PSC for a protective order on customer names. None of that proves a Newton County campus. It is why the public record is thin.

Joplin annexed Wildwood Ranch. Geronimo talked hyperscale near Sarcoxie. Sedgwick County paused data center applications through Dec. 24, 2026. Those are regional facts. They do not pin a developer on Neosho.

The paper we sent

No Sunshine letters are logged here yet. When one goes out, it goes on this table: custodian, date sent, what was asked, response due, what came back. Silence is an answer. Host the PDF next to the row.

SPP ordered the line for winter storms. Ratepayers in three states pay for it. Spare capacity can serve later interconnects. That is how a grid works. It is not proof this corridor was drawn for a named campus. Ask who is in the queue. Publish the answer.
